Tour 10: From the north to the south of Tajikistan

Day 1: Dushanbe
Your guide will meet you at the airport and take you to capital city Dushanbe. Today will be full of cultural and historical sightseeing of the city during the first day of travel in Tajikistan. You will start from the architectural monuments like National library, White House, National State Seal, and House of Parliament and beautiful Rudake Park. Later you can walk to the largest National Flag of the world. The flag of Tajikistan reaches 165 m height, 30 m width and 60 m length. Before having lunch in the local restaurant, there will be detailed excursion in Central Museum. Then it will be followed by the Gurminj Museum of traditional instruments. Later the highlight of the city tour will be Asian Bazaar, where you can find different kind of things. This day you will learn many interesting facts about Tajikistan. Overnight in a hotel.
Day 2: Dushanbe - Norak - Kalai Khum
After breakfast, we will start our tours to Kalai Khum village through Norak water reservoir, the biggest reservoir, known as a "Tajik Sea". Today you will reach 2,267m at highest point, which is Shuraba Pass before the drive along Afghan border. Here you will start traveling in legendary Pamir Mountains; you cannot stop admiring the massive and simultaneously beautiful. Even the world's most famous travelers like Marco Polo, Hsuan Tsang, Mirza Muhammad Haidar were impressed by these majestic mountains. The River Pyanj defines the Tajik- Afghan border naturally. Most of the explorers associated Pamir Mountain with the ocean of blue and white mountains. In order to learn more about the local life you will stay at family homestay Kalai Khum.
Day 3: Kalai Khum - Khorog
Today you will start the most adventurous part of the tour in Tajikistan. Tarvel to tiny town Khorog, which is surrounded by massive mountains all around. Khorog is located on the crossroads of three river, where Shokhdara river and Ghund river join to Pyanj River. On the way you will have a chance to meet Pamir people; anthropological characteristic of Pamiris differ from Tajik people. Most of the Pamir people are with light skin, blonde hair and blue eyes. By the way, Pamir is the second populated mountainous area after Himalayas in Tibet. Lifestyle of the Pamiris make them different from Tajik peoples. You will spend night in a guesthouse.
Day 4: Khorog
Today Botanical Garden will be the first site to explore during our tour in Tajikistan. Thanks to the big rivers nearby, the town boasts with many beautiful gardens that travelers enjoy a lot. At the altitude of 2320m, on the east of the city, there is a well-cared Pamir Botanical Garden. In this lavish garden grows unusual plants from all over the world. The remarkable activities of the garden to adopt plants to the local climate conditions. Next, we will enjoy the city park and wonder in local handicraft shops, museum. Moreover, the vibrant local bazar offers many things to experience; friendly local farmers, bargaining of buyers and the smell of fresh fruits. Night in a guesthouse.
Day 5: Khorog - Kalai Khum
After breakfast, drive back to Kalai Khum, taking the same way as previous day of our tour. Because of the high rocky mountains surrounding, there is only one road goes to Kalai Khum, famous village in Tajikistan. In addition to the stunning beauty of the Pamir, travelling to these areas offers to find out more about the development of history, culture and life style of the mountain habitants. Observing them, you will have an idea of how the history of the human beings advanced to the modern world. On the way ща your travel it is possible to take a break in a small village to meet friendly local people. The settlements are on the both sides of the river, just on the other side, you will be able to see stony Afghan villages. Night in a homestay.
Day 6: Kalai Khum - Khoburubot - Dushanbe
Today you will drive on the mountainous road to Dushanbe, which goes Khoburubot Pass, reaching 3 252m above the sea level. It is famous as a West Pamir Tract. This way takes you through long the wide and sparkling river valley, spectacular gorges. You will have many photo stops to capture the mesmerizing beauty of the nature. En route it is possible to meet local people friendly smiles. You can also to stop and communicate with them. Tajik people are warm-hearted, hardworking and generous from the nature. Day 7: Dushanbe - Khujand
In the morning, drive to Khujant city, which is the second largest city of Tajikistan. The way will go through the Anzob Pass (3372 m). Stunning view is granted on the top. Khujant lies in the beginning of the Fergana Valley along the Syr Darya River. There more than 149,000 people live in Khujand. Moreover, it is the administrative center of Sughd, the northern district of Tajikistan. Afternoon, you will visit Cultural Palace of Khujant, where the first president of the country was elected. Another attractive site during your travel today will be Central Mosque. Overnight in a hotel. End of tour in Tajikistan.
Day 8: Flight
After breakfast, your driver will pick you from hotel to the airport.
