Due to the nomadic way of life, the peculiar kinds of bread are "komoch-nan"(round bread), "tandyr-nan" which is baked in tandyr - a kind of clay oven. Pieces of fried bread, known as "boorsok" are permanent on the Kyrgyz table. A national drink is made from mare's milk is Kumys.
In accordance with traditions each bride must have a wedding gift of different blankets and pillows, carpets, for which Kyrgyz women have always been known as masterful workmanship. Older women were passing their skills of wool processing, embroidery for clothes and carpets to younger ones.
